JCP names new Chief Justice of BHC

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Wednesday recommended the name of Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzai as new Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court (BHC). The incumbent Chief Justice of the BHC, Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mengal, shall retire on December 25.
According to sources, the BHC Chief Justice had nominated Sher Shah Kasi, Imtiaz Hussain, Naseer Ahmed Bungalzai, Nizamuddin and Zahoor Ahmed Mengal for two vacant posts of additional judges of the BHC. The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Nasirul Mulk, had formed a sub-committee under Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali to give its recommendation on each nominee. The commission endorsed the sub-committee's report on the nominees however it deferred the appointment of the two additional judges till the new Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court present fresh names for the slots.
