Pakistan win Handball Trophy

Pakistan has won the crown of men's International Handball Trophy by defeating Yemen at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. Pakistan carved out 39-22 victory against Yemen. In the women section, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 33-23 goals.
At the prize distribution ceremony, former law minister Rana Sanaullah, UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, DCO Noorul Amin Mengal, MNA Haji Akram Ansari, President Pakistan Handball Federation Haji Shafique, Chairman UAF Sports Board Dr Muhammad Amjad, Syed Muhammad Abid Qadri and other notables were the guests of honour.
Six countries including Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, the Maldives, Yemen and Pakistan participated at trophy. The event arranged by International Handball Federation in collaboration with University of Agriculture Faisalabad is the largest Handball tournament in the history of the country.
Talking to the media persons, Rana Sanullah said, "Such events bring the soft image of the country and give a message of pace in the world. The government was making all out efforts to promote sports activities in the county. He added that country was facing numerous challenges. We are working on war-footing to address the different issue and provide relief to the people".
UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that it was a matter of concern that the sports activities were declining in the youth. He said the UAF had the history of hosting the international events including tent pegging, handball etc. State-of-the-art sports facilities are being provided at the campus to flourish.
