Sindhi Ajrak, Topi Day celebrated in Houston

Cultural Institute Houston, Texas celebrated Sindi Topi Ajrak Day with enthusiasm. People of all ages from Sindh and other provinces attended the event. The Sindhi families wore Ajraks and Sindhi caps (Topi). They also presented gifts of Sindhi Topi and Ajrak to special guests such as the Consulate General of Pakistan Houston, and the newly elected controller, Glen Hanke.
Sindhi leaders and notables presented Topies and Ajraks to the guests. The program was attended by President of Houston Karachi, Sister Cities president Saeed Saikah, Pakistan Chamber Association and several other representative organisations and chambers.
In the event, they also played the national anthem of Pakistan and the United States where everyone respectfully stood together.
Singer Nadeem Ashraf and his group performed Sindhi and Urdu songs. Men, women, and children performed regional folk dances.
Thousands of people participated in the event that lasted throughout the night.
One out of the two groups of the Sindhi community in Houston celebrated the same event a couple of days ago under SANA platform.
