KP Assembly passes resolution condemning Indian aggression

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday passed a unanimous resolution strongly condemning the unprovoked firing by India at Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary. The joint resolution of the opposition and treasury members was tabled by Shah Hussain of JUI-F. The resolution recommended the federal government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take up the unprovoked firing issue with international community.
The resolution was signed by Sikandar Hayat Sherpao (QWP), Lutf-ur-Rehman (JUI-F), Sardar Aurangzeb Nalota (PML-N), Nighat Orakzai (PPP), Jaffar Shah (ANP), Shah Farman (PTI), Shehram Khan Tarakai (AJI) and Inayatullah Khan of JI. The house adopted the resolution unanimously. Through another unanimously passed resolution, the provincial assembly demanded of the federal government to direct Planning Commission for early approval of the PC-I of 84 MW Gorkeen Mataltan Swat and 69 MW Lawi Chitral hydropower projects of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The resolution said that delay in these projects could create problem of law and order and besides depriving the people of cheap electricity. The speaker put the resolution to vote and the house adopted it unanimously. Similarly, through another resolution tabled by Munawar Khan of JUI-F, the provincial assembly demanded posting of female staff in Nadra Lakki Marwat Office.
