VIP culture: LHC seeks replies from federal, Punjab governments

A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Monday sought replies from federal and Punjab governments by November 07 in a petition of Jamatud Dawa Chief Hafiz Saeed against VIP culture in country. Earlier the petitioner's counsel A K Dogar argued that public functionaries "living like kings and princes in palatial government houses" were not following the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and were contravening the Constitution.
He said Pakistani rulers built air-conditioned accommodations for their horses and gave them costly jam to eat. The counsel said government spent rupees one million per day on the staff, household and allowances of the President, Rs 1.2 million on the Prime Minister Secretariat.
