Hashoo Hotels President, Josef Kufer, has announced the appointment of Scotsman Gordon James Gorman as General Manager of the Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi. A veteran global hotelier, Gorman brings to his second Karachi posting, 35 years of hospitality management experience gained with leading international hotel brands, including Hilton International, Accor, Intercontinental, Dusit and Rosewood.
His globetrotting career spanning four decades, has included operational and General Manager positions in Glasgow, Nairobi, Mombasa, Abuja, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok, Hua-Hin, Seoul, Bahrain, Dubai, and in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he managed the operations of the ultra luxurious Al Faisaliah Hotel and Residence, Rosewoods market leading and multi award winning properties in the Middle East, before moving to Pakistan in 2007 to oversee the renovation and market repositioning of Karachi's Avari Towers Hotel as General Manager, a position he held until 2013. Gorman is a Master Hotelier member of the International Chaines de Roitisseurs, a certified TQM (Total Quality Management) Leadership instructor, and a former two term President and founder of FBAT, the Food and Beverage Association of Thailand.-PR
