Partly Facetious: Not all Prime Minister's dear ones are members of Cabinet

10 Oct, 2014

"I have finally figured out Mian sahib."
"Oh indeed, and who ever told you that he was an enigmatic leader who was difficult to read?"
"Well, granted that during the longest joint sitting of parliament in recent days his expression was anything but pleased when everyone took pot shots at his democratic credentials and the performance of his near and dear ones..."
"Near and dear ones? You mean his cabinet right?"
"Well, not all his dear ones are members of his cabinet... his daughter is heading a 100 billion rupee fund..."
"Which has not been very successful - no one wants money in this country if the money has to be paid back!"
"Well, why not? Our role models never return the money they borrow - and their borrowing is in millions if not billions while the public's was to be only in thousands at best under the Maryam Nawaz fund."
"It's not referred to as Maryam Nawaz fund but anyway there is the prime minister's brother, and his nephew and his daughter's father in law - I mean these are near and dear ones right!"
"Two out of two is not bad?"
"Excuse me?"
"Two were selected and two were elected so not bad."
"You are being facetious but anyway as I said I have finally figured out Mian sahib and the fact of the matter is that the only tool God gave him is a hammer."
"Hammer? Let me remind you that Mian sahib is not a lohaar, he is a politician of note and he has been in our political system for decades and the politician's tool is the gab, so no external props are required and..."
"Did you hear the phrase if the only tool you have is a hammer every problem looks like a nail?"
"Oh you are soooo bad."
