Islamabad's slum areas: Rangers, police to hold joint search operation

In the wake of growing terror threats, rangers and police would conduct joint search operation in the slum areas of the federal capital to eliminate terrorist elements. Police sources said that following the directives from the Ministry of Interior, rangers and police would conduct a door-to-door search operation in slum areas including Bhara Kahu, Turnol, Afghan habitats, under construction buildings and Kachi Abadies located in the suburbs of the federal capital.
They said that the city police also conducted a search operation in the limits of Sabzi Mandi police station. The high-ups of police directed all Sub Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to enhance patrolling as well as checking in various areas of the city, they said. They said that strict directives were issued to police to also conduct search operations at workshops, bus stands and hotels.
