Peshawar University to commence MA/MSc exams from August 13

The annual masters examination of the University of Peshawar would commence from August 13, 2014 while the varsity would remain closed from June 16 to 30th August for summer vacations. This was decided in meeting of the heads of the teaching departments with Vice Chancellor UoP Professor Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan in chair.
The meeting also decided to commence the new academic session from 1st September while the annual BA, B.Sc. examination results would be announced latest by mid-September in order to streamline fresh admission into the master's degree programme, said in a press release issued by University of Peshawar here on Friday. Addressing the meeting the Vice Chancellor said that it's heartening to note that in the last fiscal year the University closed its financial year with 171 million deficit while this time round due to special austerity measures the deficit has been reduced to 69 million. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the heads of the departments in bringing down the deficit and urged them to work for zero deficits recurring budget for varsity.
He said that all the senior teachers should make themselves available during the examinations while the deans of the faculties must pay surprise visit to the halls for effective conduction of the exams. All the faculty members should be available within their departments to the students during the working hours, he informed. Sharing his academic visit to Korea and China the Vice Chancellor said that 14 MoUs were signed in the visit which included agreements with Korean Women Universities and UoP female students should take benefit from it and get international exposure to higher education.
