ATF School inaugurated: we've completely depoliticised police department: Balochistan chief minister

Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Friday said the incumbent government has completely depoliticised the police department and excess of powers by police would not be tolerated. He was addressing at the groundbreaking ceremony of the training school for Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) here.
Home Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Home Secretary Akhbar Hussain Durrani, Commissioner Quetta division Qambar Dashti and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera were also present. "The incumbent government has given go ahead to the IGP Balochistan for restoration of peace in the province," the CM said and lauded that the IGP fulfilled his promises and now a massive improvement could be witnessed in the law and order situation compared to previous year.
"In view of the sacrifices of our forces, we have given Rs 3 billion additional amount to the police department in order to facilitate them as they are protecting our people," the CM said and announced to accept the IG's demands of funds allocation for ATF school, allowances for ATF and BDS. Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said that under the leadership of the CM Balochistan, the current government was striving hard to bring tangible improvement in the overall law and order.
"Police have been purged of all kind of influence and political pressure, which has resulted into restoration of peace in Balochistan", he said. IGP Balochistan Mushtaq Sukhera said that the restructuring of police force, training opportunities, dearth of resources and declining moral were some major challenges to him soon after he assume office. With the help of Dr Abdul Malik Baloch led government, all milestones have been achieved. "Now, police department is very well organised and capable to maintain law and order," he emphasised.
Commending the government's all-out support to police department, he said that every demand he put before them was accepted without any delay. Earlier, the CM inaugurated the building for ATF School which would be constructed with worth Rs 145 million in the span of 18-months.
