Google announced Wednesday it would open a centre for tech start-ups in Warsaw in 2015, marking the IT giant's third such Campus after similar spaces in London and Tel Aviv. The 1,800-square-metre (19,500-square-foot) centre will open in the first half of next year and provide tech innovators with mentoring and training from both Google employees and experienced entrepreneurs.
Google chief Eric Schmidt discussed the initiative on Wednesday with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk while he was in town for events marking 25 years of Polish democracy.
"Google started as a start-up in a garage, so supporting start-ups is part of our DNA," Schmidt said in a statement. Google marked the 25th anniversary of Polish democracy with a special red-and-white Google doodle on its Polish page.
