Business & social activities remain suspended: political parties express solidarity with Altaf

All kinds of business & social activities remained suspended here for the second consecutive day on Wednesday as the sit-in of Mutteida Qaumi Movement continued since Tuesday expressing solidarity with the MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain who has been undergoing interrogation by the London police in connection with alleged money laundering case.
The sit-in was staged at 10 various locations of Hyderabad and Latifabad. A biggest gathering of the MQM workers and supporters are staging a sit-in in the front of Hyderabad Press Club (HPC) and demanding the end of interrogation of their leader in money laundering case.
The sit-in before the HPC was attended and addressed by leaders of various political parties as well as the MQM. Hanif Siddiqui, Hyderabad District President of the PML-N also addressed the protestors that he was very much impressed by personality and leadership vision of Altaf Hussain. The PPP Hyderabad District Senior Vice President Amanullah Siyal lauded the services of Altaf Hussain towards strengthening democracy in Pakistan. He prayed for health and long life of Altaf Hussain. He said he wanted to tell imperialist forces that as the PPP had never bowed to their wishes so we all PPP and MQM never fear of jails and arrests. He said Altaf Hussain was leader of a big political party as such proceedings against him should be halted forthwith.
He said the PPP was with the MQM as it wanted that the situation should not become worse. He said the people of the whole Pakistan were with Altaf Hussain. Afzal Gujjar, leader of PML (F), Aftab Khanzada and Ali Muhammad Sahto of PPP also addressed the Dharna (sit-in). The MQM Zonal In-charge Naveed Shamsi, Rabita Committee Member Ashfaq Mangi, MNA Waseem Hussain, MPAs Rashid Khilji, Sabir Qaimkhani, Dilawar Qureshi, Raana Ansar and others also addressed.
