MQM stages sit-in against Altaf's arrest

The workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday staged a protest sit-in at Numaish Chowrangi against the arrest of party chief Altaf Hussain in London, which continued till filing of this story. On this occasion, MQM leaders Farooq Sattar, Amin-ul-Haq, and others were also present.
Talking to this correspondent, a member of MQM Co-ordination Committee, Amin-ul-Haq, said that the sit-in would continue till the release of Altaf Hussain. MQM also announced protest demonstrations in other parts of the country against Altaf Hussain's arrest. He also appealed to the people of entire country to protest against the arrest of Altaf. He urged the people to hold protest demonstrations outside their respective cities' press clubs to show love for their leader.
He said, "MQM is a political party and strongly believes in democratic process and will demonstrate peacefully against this unfortunate incident." Earlier, speaking at a press conference at Nine-Zero, Member of MQM Co-ordination Committee Haider Abbas Rizvi said after consultation MQM had decided to stage a sit-in at Numaish Chowrangi until Altaf's release.
