Musharraf's name on ECL: verdict reserved

30 May, 2014

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday reserved its judgement on a petition of General Pervez Musharraf (Retd) against restriction on his travelling out of Pakistan. A division bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar after hearing arguments of both sides - federal government and the counsel for petitioner - reserved its verdict to a date later to be fixed by the court office. The court directed them to submit a synopsis regarding the matter within three days, if they wanted.
Musharraf approached the court to get his name removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) so that he could visit his ailing mother in Dubai and get medical treatment for his backbone.
