Bid to rob bank branch foiled, one held

Police on Monday claimed to have foiled an attempt of robbery at a private bank located at 5 Star Chowrangi, North Nazimabad in the jurisdiction of Temoria police station. According to details, the incident took place around 11am when four dacoits tried to rob a private bank's branch. In the meantime police party got a tip-off about the presence of some dubious persons near the bank. The police party rushed the spot.
A brief encounter took place. Three bandits managed to escape from the scene while the fourth accomplice of bandits identified as Blial held in injured condition. Police claimed to have recovered a pistol and live rounds from his possession. As per initial investigation, the arrested suspect Bilal was a proclaimed offender wanted for various heinous crimes including murder police claimed. Taking notice of the good performance Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo has announced a cash reward of Rs 0.1 million for the police party along with commendation certificates.
