RCCI organises inter-universities business plan competition

Princeton University has won the 5th RCCI Business Plan Competition organized here on Monday. According to details Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has organized an Inter-Universities Business Plan Competition on Monday. Students from seven leading universities, National University of Modern Languages, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Quaid-i-Azam University, Princeton University, COMSATS, APCOM and NUST participated in the competition.
The basic purpose of holding business plan competition was to bridge the gap between industry and academia to promote business activities in the region. The Managing Director Islamabad Stock Exchange Mian Ayaz Afzal was the chief guest of the ceremony while former president Manzar Khurshid Sheikh, Raja Amer Iqbal and Colonel Zafar Jamal (Retd) were the jury members of the competition.
President RCCI Dr Shimail Daud Arain, senior vice president Malik Shahid Saleem,, Vice President Muhammad Alam Chughatai, member executive committee and large number of the students were also present on the occasion. Speaking in his inaugural address President RCCI Dr Shimail Daud said that it is need of the hour to strengthen industry-academia linkage to endorse business activities and Rawalpindi Chamber is playing its due role in this regard.
He said that it is the fifth competition of its kind organized by the RCCI and same sprit will be continued in future. President RCCI said that Chamber's mission is to flourish the talent of the students and provide them employment opportunities according to their capabilities.
He said that students are our future, our industrial development is dependent on our youth and it is the time to give them space for sharing their ideas. Speaking on the occasion chief guest Managing Director Islamabad Stock Exchange Mian Ayaz Afzal said that RCCI is initiated a healthy activity to polish the talent of new generation and these kind of competition will help a lot in the development of a nation.
He lauded the role of RCCI in national uplift and hoped that such competition will be continued in future. He was of the view that with help of said steps promotion of business activities can be made possible. At the end, he distributed prizes among the successful students. It is worth to be mentioned that students APCOM and FJWU stood second & third respectively.-PR
