Power shortfall touches 3000 megawatts level

Power shortfall has finally touched the alarming level of 3000MW with rise in demand in the country. According to the NTDC sources, power generation during last 24 hours stood at 12500MW against a demand of 15500MW, leaving the system with a total shortfall of 3000MW. Meanwhile, power generation through hydel, thermal and IPPs remained 4730MW, 1670MW and 6100MW respectively. The NTDC sources further said the Discos are observing a load shedding schedule of six to eight hours a day yet in their respective precincts.
