ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Financial Affairs Miftah Ismail has offered the investor to buy PIA, the government will give Pakistan Steel Mills for free.

While addressing the seminar Miftah Ismail said, “I don’t know if there will be a buyer after the next elections but I hope there is one and we should try and sell this PIA,”

“I would do an offer whoever buys the PIA, I will give them Pakistan Steel for free,” he offered.

He revealed every month the government was paying over Rs 400 million to PSM as a bailout package however this amount could be utilized for development projects for the people.

In order to streamline the course of national economy, it was vital to sell all public sector entities including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), and Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Miftah added.

He further said non-profit organizations should be privatized so that the money could be utilized for health and educational institutions.
