LONDON: European stock markets fell at the start of trading on Tuesday as a rally on hopes of an end to global interest-rate hikes fades.

London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped 0.2 percent to 7,401.26 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX index shed 0.3 percent to 15,084.32 points and the Paris CAC 40 lost 0.4 percent to 6,985.02.
