Addressing a conference regarding the economy here Tuesday, the minister said that the future of this country is linked to exports. He stressed that export-led growth is pivotal to taking the country forward on the path of development.

He said we will have to develop products and services keeping in view the demand of the international market. He said the chambers of commerce and industries should establish special centers with the objective to enhance exports.

He said that political stability and continuity of policies is a must to take forward the development agenda.

Alluding to the difficult situation the coalition government assumed power, the Minister for Planning said the economy has now been put on a stable path by taking difficult decisions and putting political capital at stake.

“We have taken tough decisions to save the country from default. We preferred to save the economy instead of politics. Political instability is the biggest obstacle in the way of the country's development,” he said.
