Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 80,735 tonnes of cargo comprising 69,920 tonnes of import cargo and 10,815 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 69,920 comprised of 56,846 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 7,002 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 4,562 tonnes of Wheat & 1,510 tonnes of Yellow Soya Bean Seeds.

The total export cargo of 10,815 tonnes comprised of 10,339 tonnes of containerized cargo, 334 tonnes of Corns & 142 Tons of Rice.

As many as, 4962 containers comprising of 2620 containers import and 1342 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 1313 of 20’s and 1007 of 40’s loaded while 21 of 20’s and 136 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 309 of 20’s and 62 of 40’s loaded containers while 77 of 20’s and 416 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

Around 07 ships, namely Tarlan, MT Lahore, Sima Sahba, OOCL Guangzhou, Sc Taiper, Hyundai Tacoma and Lila Fujairah have berthed at Karachi Port.

Some 30 ships namely, Cimbrai, Diyala and Cma Cgm Thames sailed out from Karachi Port.

Approximately, 07 cargoes namely MT Quetta, NCC Tabuk, Snoopy, Cosco Antwerp, Pilion, California Trader and X-press ardsey were expected to arrive at the port.

PORT QASIM

A total of 09 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, 02 ships, EM Astoria and Wide Hotel left the Port on Thursday morning, and a coal carrier ‘Star Subaru’ is expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

Cargo throughput of 168,033 tonnes, comprising 131,938 tonnes imports cargo and 36,095 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,463` Containers (1,665 TEUs Imports and 1,798 TEUs export) was handled at

the port during last 24 hours.

There are 18 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 04 ships, MSC Iris, CMA CGM Butterfly, Kanha and African Starling carrying Containers, LPG and Coal are expected to take berth at QICT, SSGC and PIBT on Thursday, 28th July-2022.
