KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 300,042 tonnes of cargo comprising 187,786 tonnes of import cargo and 112,256 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 187,786 comprised of 85,991 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 21,014 tonnes of Bulk Cargo and 80,781 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 112,256 tonnes comprised of 55,794 tonnes of containerized cargo, 160 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 20,400 tonnes of Barite Lumps, 23,600 tonnes of Clinkers, 682 tonnes of Rice and 11,620 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
As many as, 4324 containers comprising of 1927 containers import and 2397 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 659 of 20’s and 634 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 00 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 449 of 20’s and 299 of 40’s loaded containers while 228 of 20’s and 561 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours on Thursday.
Around 07, ships, namely, MT Karachi, Osaka, SSL Brahmputra, Hyundai Hong Kong, GC Sapphire, Ami and Mol Generosity have berthed at Karachi Port.
Nearly, 08 ships namely, GFS Prestige, Star Centaurus, Sunrise, Independent Spirit, Ramesh 12, Osaka, Hyundai Hong Kong and SSL Brahmaputra sailed out from Karachi Port.
Approximately, 18 cargoes namely, Sliver Joan, X-Press Anglesey, Thorswind, TS Klsnh, Diyala, Oocl New York, Paniz, Pioneer Harmony, Huayang Rose, Lady Serenity, Xin Pu Dong, KMTC Colombo, Tarlan, Jewel of Shinas, Western Highway, Iwami, KSL Qingyang and Bao Quan were expected to arrive at the port.
PORT QASIM
A total of 10 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, 03 more ships, Diyala, Maersk Jalan and Cosco Japan left the Port on Monday morning, while 03 more ships, Eemslift Nelli, Brilliant Journey and Fortune Glory are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.
Cargo throughput of 178,306 tonnes, comprising 152,148 tonnes imports cargo and 26,158 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 4,988` Containers (2,193 TEUs Imports and 2,795 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 11 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 03 ships, Marangas Asclepius, Arpeggio and Silver Eburna& two more ships, MSC Adonis and Lana carrying LNG, Phosphoric Acid, Palm oil and Containers are expected to take berths at EETL, EVTL, LCT and QICT on Monday, 27th June-2022.
