Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 130,975 tonnes of cargo comprising 88,529 tonnes of import cargo and 42,446 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 88,529 comprised of 45,432 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 2,886 tonnes of Flours, 10,800 tonnes of Soya Bean Seeds and 29,411 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 42,446 tonnes comprised of 36,176 tonnes of containerized cargo, 252 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 5,510 tonnes of Mill Scale and 508 tonnes of Rice.

As many as, 6787 containers comprising of 3723 containers import and 3064 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 671 of 20’s and 1192 of 40’s loaded while 02 of 20’s and 333 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 821 of 20’s and 432 of 40’s loaded containers while 315 of 20’s and 532 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours on Friday.

Around 04 ships namely, EF Emma, Independent Spirit, Dolphin 21 and CNC Dream have berthed at Karachi Port.

Some 03 ships namely, Singapore, Long Tan 239 and Spica Harmony have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Approximately, 08 cargoes namely Ardmore Sea Lifter, Summer 7, Spruce 2, AT 27, Fairhem Kiso, MT Shalamar, Cosco Antwerp and Swan were expected to arrive at the same day.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 166,030 tonnes, comprising 110,805 tonnes imports cargo and 55,225 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,328` Containers (939 TEUs Imports and 2,389 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 13 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them an oil carrier ‘Jag Pavitra’ & two more ships, Sunny Horizon and CMA CGM Berlioz carrying, Gas oil, Coal and Containers are expected to take berths at FOTCO, MW-4 and QICT on Friday, 10th June, while two more ships, Cap Carmel and Diyala are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday 11th June 2022.
