Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 233,801 tonnes of cargo comprising 155,595 tonnes of import cargo and 78,206 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 155,595 comprised of 66,933 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 20,683 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 4,185 tonnes of Soya Bean Seed and 63,794 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 78,206 tonnes comprised of 51,156 tonnes of containerized cargo, 750 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 16,900 tonnes of Clinkers, and 9,400 tonnes of Talc Powder.

Some, 7990 containers comprising of 4090 containers import and 3900 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 1240 of 20’s and 1401 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 24 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1516 of 20’s and 974 of 40’s loaded containers while 362 of 20’s and 37 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

Nearly, 08 ships, namely Msc Malin, MT Queeta, Apl Oregon, AAL Dalian, Teera Bhum, Independent Spirit and Loanna have berth at Karachi Port.

Approximately, 03 ships Dover Highway, Oel Kedarnath and SL Tweety have sailed out from Karachi Port.

About 05 cargoes namely, Hyundai Oakland, Ym excellence, Hilda, cattles and Queen Island were expected to reach at the port on the same day.

Port qasim

A total of 08 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, two more ships, Rosa and Serengeti left the Port on Wednesday morning, while two more ships, Asia Liberty and Maersk Denver are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

Cargo volume of 207,163tonnes, comprising 161,614 tonnes imports cargo and 45,549 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 5,976 Containers (3,752 TEUs Imports and 2,251 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 08 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 02 ships, Apnoia and Golden Lotus & three more ships, MSC Malin, Johannes Maersk and Gulf Mist Carrying Gasoline, Palm oil, Containers and Chemical are expected to take berths at FOTCO, LCT, QICT and EVTL on Wednesday, 30th March-2022.
