Different sectors: Future Japanese investments discussed

ISLAMABAD: Japanese investors are interested to invest in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). As per details, Wada Mitsuhiro, new Japanese ambassador to Pakistan called on the Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar here in Islamabad on Tuesday. The two dignitaries discussed bilateral ties and future investments in different sectors, as well as, SEZs.

Wada said that many Japanese investors are interested in investing in the SEZs, adding we need to facilitate these investors to invest in Pakistan in the future. He assured the Japanese investors would further bring their businesses and forge partnerships with their Pakistani counterparts in days ahead, and requested the minister for a more liberalised, favourable tax regime in this regard.

He said it is my pleasure to contribute to the development of Japan-Pakistan relations especially at this very important time and to work in this wonderful country, which has a rich history, culture, and also very warm-hearted people.

Federal Minister Asad Umar welcomed the ambassador to Pakistan and said that the Japanese companies located in Pakistan have established long-standing business relations with Pakistan and contributed to Pakistani economic development through large amounts of investment and employment.
