Point of Sale: Businessmen’s concerns to be addressed: Tarin

ISLAMABAD: Advisor on Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin has held out an assurance to a delegation of traders of efforts to address the concerns of the business community regarding Point of Sale (POS).

A delegation of All Pakistan Traders Association (Anjuman-e-Tajiran) held a meeting with the adviser on Thursday. The adviser said that a cell would be established to take the complaints of traders so as to address the difficulties of the traders.

Tarin said that the government needed the cooperation of the traders to bring all the traders community into the tax net.

On this occasion, a five to six member committee was formed, which will act as a liaison between the FBR, the business community, and the Ministry of Finance.

The business community acknowledged the steps taken by the government to increase the revenue.

In order to encourage traders to pay taxes, Tarin said that he will travel across the country with the business community.

The finance adviser assured that the business community would be consulted in future on the tax strategy.

He also assured the business community of all possible cooperation and to do away with the atmosphere of harassment.
