Kenyan shilling weakens on prolonged dollar shortage

NAIROBI: The Kenyan shilling traded weaker on Monday due to continued dollar shortages and traders said they were monitoring the central bank to see if it intended to ease the situation by selling forex.

At 0930 GMT, commercial banks posted the shilling at 111.05/25, compared with Friday's closing rate of 111.00/20.
