Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 156,390 tonnes of cargo comprising 135,799 tonnes of import cargo and 20,591 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending on Thursday.

The total import cargo of 135,799 comprised of 43,818 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 2,800 tonnes of Iron Ore, 10,213 tonnes of Rock Phosphate, 14,620 tonnes of Wheat and 64,348 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 3811 tonnes comprised of 3302 tonnes of containerized cargo and 509 tonnes of Clinkers.

Nearly, 3811 containers comprising of 3302 containers import and 509 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 780 of 20’s and 1063 of 40’s loaded while 02 of 20’s and 197 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 175 of 20’s and 79 of 40’s loaded containers while 76 of 20’s and 50 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

Approximately, 06 ships namely, Oel Kedarnath, Furness St Kilda, Uranus J, Hansa Roternburg, Long Beach Trader and Aggelos B have berth at Karachi Port on Thursday.

About 03 ships namely, Fan Shun, Kmtc Delhi and Fmt Efes have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Some 15 cargos namely, Magic Victoria, Daeho Sunstar, MSC Patnaree III, Cosco Roterdam, TS Singapore, Gold River, Willowy, Songa Iridum, Prague Express, Ital Lirica, OOcl Guangzhou, Sino Bridge, Common Horrizon, Basic Brave and AKU Star were expected arrive at the port on the same day.

PORT QASIM

Cargo handling remained upward trend at the port on Wednesday where a cargo volume of 284,029 tonnes, comprising 165,547 tonnes imports cargo and 118,482 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 5,884 Containers (2,443 TEUs Imports and 3,441 TEUs export), was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Three ships, Maersk Nile, Urliken and Jag Aabha carrying Containers, Phosphoric Acid and Mogas are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Chemicals Terminal and Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday, 23rd September, while another container ship ‘Spirit of Kolkata’ is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and ‘MOL Generosity’ is due to arrive on Friday, 24th September-2021.
