Maggo says there is potential to sell products worth billions globally

KARACHI: Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo, president of FPCCI, has said that there is a potential to sell products worth billions globally from Pakistan including -- but not limited to -- textiles, hosiery, handicrafts, toys, gift items, cultural products, cutlery and crockery, sports goods, hygiene products, books, plastic products and many more.

He welcomed e-commerce trainers and practitioners at the Federation House to educate and train the businessmen and entrepreneurs on getting started and profitably selling globally through Amazon's platform.

He expressed his satisfaction that top talent from Pakistan and beyond have attended the seminar and made their presentations based on real-world practices and success stories.

He appreciated the participants for making the awareness session a success and one of the best since Amazon has re-included Pakistan in its official sellers list.

Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo thanked Ministry of Commerce, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Amazon for making it possible for Pakistani businessmen to start selling again using Amazon's platform.

He also extended FPCCI's support in order to make full use of the opportunity.

The awareness session was well attended by e-commerce leaders of Pakistan and representatives of allied industries like financial institutions, internet and other digital services providers, academic researchers, etc.

Ather Sultan Chawla, VP of FPCCI, said that FPCCI is committed to helping businesses tap new markets and new avenues to grow and diversify through use of digital platforms, and Amazon is the best platform to sell globally.

Imran Khalil Naseer, chairman of the Pak-UK Business Council, FPCCI, apprised the audience of the enormous potential that Amazon selling can offer to Pakistan and how that can be enhanced over the coming years.
