LAHORE: A delegation of the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) led by Adeeb Iqbal Sheikh, chairman (NZ), PRGMEA, held a meeting with the Postmaster-General of Punjab, Khawaja Imran Raza, and other officials of the Pakistan Post at the latter’s office here.

The postmaster-general briefed the delegation, telling them that Amazon had opened its platform to Pakistani sellers.

The platform offers retailers the opportunity to sell their products directly to buyers and mass production opportunities.

The move would help promote more businesses, and online buyers would have an access to Pakistani brands.

The postmaster-general informed the delegation about the establishment of an Amazon facilitation centre by the Pakistan Post to facilitate garment manufacturers-cum-exporters to sell different items worldwide using Amazon’s state-of-the-art international logistics capabilities.

He told the delegation that Pakistan Post was fully prepared to take advantage of the opportunity provided by Amazon, adding that Pakistan Post was all set to transport sellers’ consignments from their doorsteps to different Amazon warehouses in the world.

Sheikh said that just weeks after Amazon opened its platform to Pakistani sellers, Pakistan Post was formally authorized as the delivery partner of the global e-commerce giant. This was being seen as a massive achievement for Pakistan’s e-commerce sector as Pakistani products would now be available to millions of consumers globally.
