CRTO FBR to remain open today

LAHORE: The Corporate Regional Tax Office (CRTO) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) would remain open today in order to facilitate the taxpayers and meet the revenue targets for the current fiscal.

The CRTO sources said Saturday would remain a working day until the 30th of June like other field formations of the Board across the country. However, the CRTO would ensure a strict following of COVID-19 preventives during the services offered to taxpayers. The Board is confident of achieving the revenue target for the current fiscal.

The tax collection target was lowered by Rs 246 billion, from Rs 4,963 billion to Rs 4,717 billion, for the current fiscal year, 2020-21. The Board has achieved its 11-month target after it collected Rs 4,167 billion in the current fiscal year against Rs 3,532 billion in the same period last fiscal year. The FBR has registered a growth of 18% after these tax collections. According to sources, tax collections have increased by 70% as compared to May 2020.
