Covid-19 positivity ratio witnesses slight increase

ISLAMABAD: The national Covid-19 positivity ratio Friday witnessed a slight increase as it jumped from 4.35 percent to 4.81 percent as the country recorded 2,482 Covid-19 cases by conducting 51,625 tests. According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), nationwide 67 coronavirus deaths were reported and 2,822 patients recovered.

The NCOC said that at present, there are 58,611 active COVID-19 cases in the country. The country has witnessed below five percent positivity ratio for the fifth day.

Health authorities carried out 51,625 Covid-19 tests across the country of which 14,529 tests were conducted in Sindh, 20,903 in Punjab, 8,110 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), 5,273 in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 1,450 in Balochistan, 870 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and 490 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). A total of 13,057,951 corona tests have been conducted so far, while 639 hospitals are equipped with Covid facilities.

Countrywide 4,501 coronavirus patients were admitted in hospitals of which 4,132 are in critical care units (ICUs). A total of 13,006,326 corona tests have been conducted so far, while 639 hospitals are equipped with Covid facilities.

Some 4,496 corona patients were admitted in hospitals of which 4,109 are in critical care units (ICUs) across the country. Out of 67 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, 60 were under treatment in hospital of which seven at quarantines centres or homes.
