20 May, 2021

ISLAMABAD: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has imposed an additional Rs600 embarkation and security fee on domestic flights applicable from May 21, 2021. CAA official told Business Recorder that travellers would be additionally charged Rs600 at the time of booking a ticket, adding that an embarkation fee was levied before May 2019 but due to economic conditions those charges were waived.

The breakdown of the additional charges would be as follows: Rs100 security charges, while the remaining Rs500 will be charged as embarkation fee.

CAA has directed all airlines that effective May 21 it would be mandatory to collect the amount from all domestic passengers, at the time of booking a ticket.

The airlines will charge the passengers accordingly and submit the collected fee to CAA.
