PM inaugurates Labour Complex in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday inaugurated 2,056 flats constructed for industrial workers at an estimated cost of Rs5.93 billion at Regi Lalma (Shahi Bala) under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programe.

The prime minister, accompanied by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Mahmood Khan, provincial ministers, including minister for labour and culture, Shaukat Yousafzai, and MPAs unveiled the plaque of residential flats constructed by the KP government for industrial labourers at Regi Lalma.

The prime minister inspected the low-cost flats and a newly-constructed school in the Labour Complex.

He was briefed about the salient features of the mega-project and services provided at the Labour Complex where these flats had been constructed under the Naya Pakistan Housing Project.

The prime minister was informed that the price of each flat was Rs2.6 million, out of which a Rs300,000 subsidy would be provided by the government and the remaining amount would be paid by the beneficiaries through easy installments.

A three percent quota has been reserved for widows and two per cent for differently abled persons.

Those who have been working in the industries for three years are eligible for these flats to be awarded on ownership basis through a lucky draw in a transparent manner.

It is a mega-housing project of the KP government completed in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide affordable housing facilities to the people.
