Coronavirus vaccination drive launched

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched the coronavirus vaccination campaign in the country after witnessing the vaccine administered to a doctor on Tuesday.

Speaking after the launching campaign, the prime minister said that health workers would be vaccinated first followed by that age group which is more vulnerable against coronavirus.

“I will ask all the health workers that it is necessary for them to be vaccinated because they are at more risk,” he added.

The prime minister also advised everyone to follow the SOPs, wear masks and must adopt full precautionary measures.

The prime minister added that “we have opened schools and will gradually open hospitals and cases are becoming less. More people will follow the SOPs more people will be protected against coronavirus”.

The prime minister said that in the US more than 400,000 people had died whereas in Britain over 100,000 people had become casualties of the coronavirus and on top of that its economy had been completely shut down, but the situation in Pakistan was relatively much better as Pakistan’s economy was open.

However, there are some restrictions in services sector and if the people will care, the services sector will also be opened

The prime minister said that equitable distribution of vaccine would be done in all the provinces.

The prime minister congratulated his team and also thanked China.
