14 more die of Covid-19 in Sindh

KARACHI: As many as 14 more patients of COVID-19 died overnight lifting the death toll to 3,744 and 1,769 new cases emerged when 14,519 tests were conducted.

This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Wednesday. He added that 14 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 3,744 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

The CM said that 14,519 samples were tested against which 1,769 cases were diagnosed constituting 12.2 percent detection rate. He added that so far 2,525,834 tests have been conducted which detected 230,718 cases, of them 91 percent or 210,127 patients have recovered.

Shah said that currently 16,847 patients were under treatment; of them 15,938 were in home isolation, 12 at isolation centres and 897 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 817 patients was stated to be critical, including 84 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 1,769 new patients, 1,458 have been detected from Karachi, including 546 from East, 496 South, 173 Korangi, 143 Central, 51 Malir and 49 West. Jamshoro has 48 new cases, Hyderabad 46, Dadu 37, Mirpurkhas 19, Sanghar and Sujawal Nine each and Jacobabad eight.
