Two truck drivers killed in separate incidents

ISLAMABAD: Armed robbers shot dead two truck drivers in separate incidents in the capital city, and another gang looted another truck driver on Wednesday.

According to details, two armed persons riding a bike intercepted a truck in an attempt to loot the driver in the limits of Shams Colony police station.

When the driver did not stop the truck, armed men opened indiscriminate firing and killed the driver, identified as Shafi Gul, and escaped from the scene.

In another incident, robbers shot dead another truck driver in the limits of Sabzi Mandi police station

while attempting to loot the driver.

The police said that the driver, Raz Ali, along with another driver was sleeping in his truck at Faqir Aipee Road, after transporting construction tiles from Faisalabad to the capital

city.

At around 3:40am two armed persons knocked at the truck’s door, asked the drivers to open the door, when they refused to open the door, robbers opened fire and shot dead one of the drivers, Raz Ali.

In another incident in the limit of the same police station, Rs 100,000 were looted from a truck driver, the police said.

During the last two days, five people have been killed in various areas of the federal capital.
