LAHORE: The Cane Commissioner Punjab has enhanced the date for submitting two-years purchase record and payments by the sugar mills of the province to ascertain the value of 11 percent markup on delayed payments till December 15 on the request of certain sugar mills. It may be added here that the Cane Commissioner Punjab had directed the sugar mills in recent past to furnish cane purchased and payment record by November 27, 2020, for the last two years.

Cane Commissioner Punjab Muhammad Zaman Wattoo had taken this step while deciding a petition filed by different sugar mills on the issue of payment of mark up on delayed payments under Rule 14 (10) of the Punjab Sugar Factories (Control) Rules, 1950.

Later, the Cane Commissioner office on failure of the sugar mills had issued notices to 25 such units for submitting the same in two days or be ready to face the legal action under the law.
