Residential sectors: ICT bans illegal construction on land acquired by CDA, FGEHS

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has banned illegal construction on land acquired by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Federal Government Employees Housing Scheme (FGEHS) for residential sectors.

According to two notifications issued by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, the administration has banned illegal construction in sectors including sector C-13,C-16, D-13, E-13, F-13, I-117, E-10, and sector H-16 acquired by the CDA as well as sectors G-14/2, 3 Mouza Chellow, Mouza Jhangi Syedan F-14 and F-15, and F-15/3 acquired by the Federal Government Employees Housing Scheme.

According to the notification, it has come to my knowledge through the CDA that the CDA acquired land for sectors C-13, C-16, D-13, E-13, F-13, I-117, E-10 and sector H-16.

It has been further conveyed that certain miscreants are engaged in illegal construction and encroachment without having any lawful authority, it says.

"In exercise of powers conferred on me under section 144 of Code of Crime Procedure (Cr. P C) 1988 do herby prohibit the illegal construction and encroachments on land acquired by CDA for the above sector," it says that adding that this order shall be into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period for two months. It says that on the expiry of this order everything done, action taken, obligation ability, penalty or punishment incurred, investigations, enquiry or proceedings pending against offenders in the court of magistrate having powers under the Code of Crime Procedure-1998 and punishment in respect of this order shall be continued or launched as if this order has not expired. According to another notification issued by the DC, it has come to my knowledge through Federal Government Employees Housing Authority that the illegal construction over the land acquired for sectors G-14/2, 3 Mouza Chellow, Mouza Jhangi Syedan F-14 and F-15 and F-15/3.
