Updated 18 Jul, 2020

ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owner Association (APOTOA) has deferred its call for strike till July 20th on the assurance of the Petroleum Division. The Petroleum Division contacted members of the association and assured the association to communicate their legitimate demands to the concerned government agencies/departments.

"Petroleum Division will also convene a meeting with a delegation of the association to discuss the matter on July 20, Monday. After the timely contact of the Petroleum Division, Oil Tankers Association has deferred strike, and supplies of oil will be continued across the country," the division stated.

The association has warned to protest for an indefinite period from Thursday against the increase in income tax, provincial service, and toll taxes. The supply of petroleum products remained suspended across the country due to the strike of the Oil Tankers and Contractors Association.

The Oil Tankers Association on Wednesday had announced that it would discontinue supply across the country to protest an increase in income and toll taxes. There is no business and they have increased the tax, the association's president Abidullah Afridi had reportedly said.
