CDWP approves Rs26 billion for road construction from Hoshab to Awaran: Asim Bajwa

(Karachi) China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Chairman Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved Rs26 billion for a 146km road from Hoshab portion of the motorway to Awaran.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said that it is the government's top priority to commence work on M-8 Motorway. he maintained, "This road in remote districts of Kech/Awaran is a beacon of light for impoverished South Balochistan,will change lives."

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan vowed that the government will complete the CPEC project at any cost.He said that the project is an important step in the socio-economic development and the "gigantic multi-faceted initiative would guarantee a bright future for the nation.

The project, which is a USD 60 billion project is being seen as a manifestation of friendship between Pakistan and China. The CPEC will connect Pakistan's Gwadar Port in Balochistan with China's Xinjiang province, and is one of the first projects under Pakistan's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
