LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would accept every option minus Imran Khan as he has become a liability for the people of Pakistan, said PPP chairman Bilawal-Bhutto Zardari on Thursday.

He was getting an online briefing from the representatives of Civil Aviation and PIA labour unions at Bilawal House on Thursday.

Bilawal vowed to declare decisions of selling out state-owned enterprises (SOEs) void after assuming power. He said those who are interested in the purchase of SOEs should keep in mind that PPP would not only offer shares in SOEs to the labourers but also increase it from the previous level.

It was pointed out in the briefing that the Civil Aviation has secured a profit of Rs 89 billion despite the Covid-19 outbreak. The government is aiming at selling airports in Lahore and Islamabad. The Civil Aviation Unity would never accept Section 29. They said the government was maligning PIA intentionally in order to pave the way for its selling.

Speaking on the occasion, Bilawal said Pakistan is his motherland and the SOEs are its ornaments which he would never let sold. "We would not allow Prime Minister Imran Khan to hand over valuable land of airports to his friends. The time has come that the labourers and workers from throughout Pakistan should get united against the fascist government. Inefficiencies of the government have led to the banning of PIA throughout the world."

Meanwhile, Bilawal also held a video conference with the party leadership from Southern Punjab, including PPP president South Punjab Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood and general secretary Natasha Daultana. He discussed the post-budget public sentiment with the party leadership from the South. He vowed to unveil the incompetent government at every forum. He said Imran has achieved nothing over the last two years except levelling allegations against the opposition.
