Sindh govt extends lockdown in province till July 15

(Karachi) Sindh government has extended lockdown in the province for 15 days, media reported on Wednesday. A notification to this effect has been issued.

As per details, the lockdown will be enforced till July 15. All businesses will open five days a week while they will remain closed on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). as part of the Sindh government's notification, traders will be allowed to resume business activities from 6am to 7pm.

Further, only pharmacies and essential services will be allowed to open on Saturdays and Sundays.

NCOC warns of strict lockdown

However, the timings of home delivery of food and other items has been extended till 11pm.

On Wednesday, Sindh's coronavirus tally soared to 86,795 after the province reported 2139 new cases.

Besides, 29 more people lost their lives due to coronavirus in 24 hours while 1,406 people have died from the novel virus so far in the province. The condition of 707 patients is critical while 104 are on ventilator.

Govt decides to implement lockdown in sensitive areas

Earlier, in wake of rising cases of coronavirus in the country, the government decided to lock down sensitive areas in Karachi.

The government identified hotspots in the light of the report of the deputy commissioners. Traffic will be restricted in restricted areas during the lockdown.
