Unannounced load shedding continues across Karachi

As scorching weather creeps in, the citizens of Karachi are facing several hours of unannounced load shedding in different areas of the metropolis.

As per details, electricity is unavailable for 10 to 12 hours in different parts of the city including; North Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Baldia Town, Korangi, Landhi, Orangi Town, Nazimabad, Liaqatabad, FB Area and Gulshan-e-Maymar.

Citizens who are suffering from load shedding say that they do not get electricity at night nor during the day but they are paying thousands of rupees in bills.

Meanwhile, K-Electric, the chief power provider in the city has blamed the reduction in furnace oil and gas for affecting production capacity.

Energy experts say that gas and refined oil are blamed for the decline in power generation every summer, but K-Electric does not have an emergency plan before the onset of the summer season, and K Electric does not have a proper arrangement for storing furnace oil.
