A team of police investigators will be soon be reportedly dispatched to Islamabad to arrest suspended Malir Cantt Senior Superintendent Police Rao Anwar for his involvement in the 'extrajudicial' murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud.

According to local media, the police have formed teams to conduct raids in areas to apprehend Anwar and his team involved in the alleged encounter inwhich Naqeebullah was shot dead. The decision was taken after Naqeebullah's father registered on Tuesday a case at the Sacchal police station against Anwar.

Officials have failed to locate Anwar and have yet to arrest him after he was stopped by Federal Investigation Agency at Islamabad airport from trying to flee the country on Tuesday morning.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said on Wednesday said that the police will take action against Naqeebullah's murder in their own way. "The Sindh IG does not need permission to arrest him," he further said.

Anwar has been refusing to appear before any committee, saying that he will not get any justice from them. The Supreme Court had also ordered his name to be placed on the Exit Control List and summoned him and other senior officials of the Sindh government.

Naqeebullah, a 27-year-old native of Waziristan, was killed along with three other suspected terrorists on January 13, in an alleged encounter with a police team headed by Anwar. However, Naqeebullah’s family claimed that the deceased was innocent and was killed in a ‘fake’ encounter.
