Payment of fine: Hamza Shahbaz gets released 50 prisoners

As many as 50 prisoners were released here from Adiala Jail on the payment of fine by Member National Assembly, MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif made the payment of fine amounting to one million rupees from his own pocket. He also inaugurated the newly constructed barrack for lady prisoners in the jail.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, he said that Punjab government has allocated rupees 12 million for the release of the prisoners on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr from all the jails of the province, particularly those who are unable to pay their fines. He said that prisoners facing difficulties in imprisonment due to the non-payment of fine were released on the eve of Eid so that they could enjoy the religious festival with their families.
He said that he is well aware of the problems of the prisoners and after the release, they should change their attitude and become a useful citizen of the society. He urged philanthropists to come forward and help government in this regard so that such prisoners could celebrate Eid in their homes.
The MNA said that Punjab government is setting up a training institute for the officers of Prisons Department who will be trained by acquiring the consultants from abroad so that they could play their due role for making the prisoners useful citizens of the society. He informed that besides setting up of medical care units, generators are also being installed in 32 jails of the province.
