Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Farzana Raja has said that BISP is providing demand driven vocational training to its beneficiary families under Waseela-e-Rozgar scheme in line with job opportunities available both at national and international level.
One member of each deserving family is being imparted skill/vocational training aimed at eradicating poverty by making them skilful citizens, Farzana Raja said while talking to Jamil Ahmad Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan in UAE, who called on her at BISP Secretariat on Wednesday.
Farzana Raja emphasised upon Jamil that the job market of UAE should be examined to explore the prospects of Pakistani skilled labour in that market so that skilled manpower through BISP training could avail the opportunities. She said that the beneficiary families would be imparted training in those areas on priority basis that would be carrying more demand. She informed the ambassador that BISP, to improve its delivery mechanisms, has introduced modern technology ie Benazir Smart Card and Mobile Phone Banking that were in fact brainchild of the President Asif Ali Zardari.
Chairperson BISP said that the official website of the BISP would enlist the name of the persons who will complete training under Waseela-e-Rozgar and said that these names would be linked to job market. Jamil Ahmad Khan lauded the efforts of BISP with regard to poverty eradication and said that UAE has huge scope to absorb skilled Pakistan labour. He said that mutual co-operation with the corporate sector of UAE would be highly beneficial to achieve the desired results regarding exploring new job opportunities.
