A petition was filed in Lahore High Court against the US drone attacks in the tribal belt of the country, seeking directions to stop them which are claiming lives of hundreds of innocent people. Barrister Iqbal Jafferi in the petition has prayed the court to ask the federal government for a comprehensive report about agreement/treaty with US and Black Water, if any, with respect to the attacks.
The petitioner stated that the government should also furnish number of drone attacks and the number of persons killed therein, and compensation provided to the victims. He stated that former dictator Pervez Musharraf was responsible for drone attacks in Pakistan.
