Arms, ammunition smuggling foiled

ABBOTTABAD: Cantt. Police Station on Sunday seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition and foiled smuggling.

This was stated by DSP of Cantt. Police Station Ishtiaq Ahmed while talking to media here Sunday.

While giving the details of the operation, DSP Ishtiaq Ahmed said that police has recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition from two cars LED 5466 and EC 4718, police also arrested three smugglers those were identified as Babar Khan resident of Qada Adam Khel, Muhammad Zaneed son of Khayal resident of Dameel Khail and Muhammad Hanif son of Roghan Shah resident of Dameel Khail at Muslim Abad police post.

DSP Ishtiaq Ahmed said that police seized local made two Kalashnikov, two MP-five rifles, three 30 bore rifles, one 222 bore rifle, one pistol 30 bore, 15000 rounds of 30 bore, 1585 rounds of 9mm, 280 rounds 222 bore and 2370 Kalashnikov rounds.

SHO Cantt. Police Station Cadet Hafeez told media that police registered case against the three arms and ammunition smugglers under section 15-17/AA and police also got two days physical remand of the accused from the court and started the investigation.

The accused informed police during the investigation that they were directed to provide arms and ammunition to a resident of Noor Kamal of Oghi.
