FBR assures release of refunds soon : FTO

Taking to members of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry during his visit to the association here, the FTO said notices issued without barcode would be taken as criminal offense. Sukhera also said in his recent meeting with FBR officials, he had directed them to facilitate tax filers and to provide relief of two years gap for the submission of general audit.

He said the cost of production and doing business had gone very high besides other problems facing industrialists and traders. In this situation, he added, the spirit of business community was remarkable.

He told that recently in a meeting with officials of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) he raised many concerns related to problems faced by business community regarding taxation and due refunds. He told that FBR has assured to release tax refunds soon.

To a question, FTO Mushtaq Ahmed Sukheera said the FTO office has a full authority to take "Sou Motu" action regarding taxation issues. Anyone could complain individually or collectively to FTO and this office would provide possible legal relief.

KATI President Tariq Malik, Vice President Junaid Naqi, Head of KATI’s Standing committee on FBR, SBI and Taxation Rashid Siddqui, Zubair Chhaya, Masood Naqi, Akbar Farooqui and other also addressed the meeting.
